📜 Description
Original pochoir print created in 1920 by Edouard Halouze for the text by Jaques Boulenger, published in Paris by Devambez in the volume “De la Walse au Tango”. The composition depicts an elegant ballroom scene set within an Art Deco interior, centered on a dancing couple captured in motion while two seated musicians perform in the background. The vertical and theatrical composition focuses attention on the fluid movement of the dancers, enhanced by evening attire, long pearl necklaces, and the geometric stylization of the architectural setting. The inscription “Edouard Halouze 1919” visible in the lower left corner directly links the image to the refined French illustration style of the early postwar years, characterized by decorative clarity and linear elegance. This vintage print retains documentary and collectible interest as a visual testimony to Parisian dance culture and graphic art of the 1920s.
