📜 Description
Large decorative Murano art glass goblet, produced in Italy between the mid-20th century and the 1970s within the Venetian glass tradition influenced by “Tutti Frutti” and “End of Day” glass associated with the Murano production of the Fratelli Toso circle and related workshops. The piece features a strongly elongated structure with a wide hemispherical bowl and irregular wavy rim, supported by a long hot-worked stem with fused polychrome inclusions and a matching flared foot. The surface of the bowl is characterized by a dense material composition in white lattimo glass enriched with multicolored fragments and inclusions embedded within the glass mass through layered fusion and refiring techniques. Its formal and chromatic language recalls Mid-Century Venetian exhibition glass, balancing ornamental function with luminous decorative research. Particularly noteworthy is the stem, shaped through twisting and stretching of molten polychrome glass, creating a strong sense of verticality and movement. The goblet belongs to the postwar Murano artistic glass tradition and represents a decorative vintage glass object of strong visual impact, fully consistent with Italian Mid-Century art glass production of the second half of the twentieth century.

📚 Historical-Artistic Note
The “Tutti Frutti” or “End of Day” technique derives from the Murano tradition of creatively reusing leftover colored glass fragments fused into the molten glass during hot working. This decorative language was reinterpreted after World War II by several Venetian furnaces, including Fratelli Toso and other Murano Mid-Century artistic glass workshops, resulting in objects distinguished by chromatic freedom, textured surfaces, and sculptural forms intended for display and interior decoration. The elongated proportions of the present example and the quality of the stem workmanship are fully consistent with Venetian decorative glass production from the 1960s and 1970s.
